What is the Basic Concept?
Basically, every request to a mwlib-homepage goes through a template. And here already comes the special thing about mwlib: the template then decides what to do. It defines what happens by specifying what modules to load and which functions to execute. Learn more...
mwlib is divided into several, to a high degree independent parts. Learn more...
mwlib per se does not require any database like mysql. Many modules rely on storing information in a database, though. With the advent of SQLite in PHP5, many applications using databases are possible without running a seperate server program.
